America

How does that song go? "I've got Jesus on my key chain..."

I read that 67.5% of America calls themselves Christians, Only a third (33%) of Americans are in Church in a particular week (which does not imply they have accepted Jesus as Lord & Savior and does not imply that they are particularly active).

Take that in mind, a year ago, only 24% of Americans was against Abortion for religious reasons (not just Christians).

I can have Jesus on my key chain, wear all the shirts, go to Church every Sunday (or in my case Saturday), and still be a lukewarm Christian.

I think there are many lukewarm Christians in America.

Rev 3:17:

You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.
Rich - putting your trust in your job and stock, not in God. Thinking 'My job will keep me until the Rapture, and then I will be removed from any trouble, I am so comfortable, I don't need to do anything'.

Pitiful - compromise to keep peace. Not witnessing because doing so would potentially cause you to lose your job that you put your trust in. Watch movies that have "a little sex" "a little blasphamy" "a little sin" "a little compromise". Our pastor put this in a very interesting way, would you be willing to eat brownies that had a little excrement in them?

Poor - I think many Christians are missing God's blessings because they are not putting their trust in Him (I'm not talking Money here, but poor in spirit).

Blind - Americans are so comfortable in their Christian world that they're blinded to the persecution around the world. Part of this is voluntary, "oh, it's so sad what's happening" rather than actively getting involved.

Naked - God can see right through your thoughts, desires, apathy.

What is said about being lukewarm?

Rev 3:16

So, because you are lukewarm - neither hot nor cold - I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
What are we to do about it?

Rev 3:18-19

I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.
Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent."
You can find many cases through the bible of how God rebukes and disciplines.

Pray For America!
